Commission Structure and PoliciesStraight Referrals - via referral formWe usually pay 5% for a "hands off" referral of a corporate web site or e-commerce web site project. If the project is then pre-paid by the customer, you receive a check for 5% of the development fees excluding hosting and third party fees such as photography or domain purchases. If the project is financed by the customer, you will recieved half of the commission when the deal closes with a deposit and half the commission when all of the money has been collected. Agency Referrals - a referral of one of your clientsWe usually pay a 10% commission if you are referring us one of your beloved clients that you cannot adequately help with their web site needs. If the project is pre-paid by the customer, you receive a check for 10% of the development fees excluding hosting and third party fees such as photography or domain purchases. If the project is financed by the customer, you will recieved half of the commission when the deal closes with a deposit and half the commission when all of the money has been collected.
You do the legwork or design work but use our infrastructure and "system" of cranking out the live web siteIf you are an experienced graphic designer or ad agency pro but you have seen how fast Distant Horizon can go live with a new self-maintainable web site or e-commerce site, you can stay involved in the web project for your client and handle the graphic design and project management and keep a larger piece of the action (usually 20%). You can even mark up our billings, the only catch is that we bill you for the discounted fees and you have the responsibility of collecting the money from the client. Please note, in nearly all situations Distant Horizon requires that we be the hosting company and that we bill your client directly for hosting. The reason for this is that hosting relationships sometimes go on forever, and the amounts of money are too insignificant to create a middleman situation.
