Common Questions From Prospective AmbassadorsIf I refer one of my clients to Distant Horizon, are they going to make me look like I didn't know what I was doing? No, absolutely not. We always want your client or friend to feel like the reason you sent them to us is because you really cared about giving them the best. Life is not about being great at everything yourself, its about knowing where to find someone that can help you get things done right. Is Distant Horizon going to steal the rest of my clients once I make a referral or two to them? No, your clients are your clients. We are not cannibals. Recently we had a long-standing friend that wanted us to buy his hosting operation. Even without an NDA he let us review the entire client list. When we decided that it wasn't a good fit we told him that honestly, but we handled the client list only at the highest levels of management so that it was never even seen by Distant Horizon's sales force. Can I take my commission in free design or programming for my own business?Yes, in many cases you can. However, we ask that you keep track of the numbers so that there is no confusion if time goes by between the time you earn the commission and the time when you want to use the credit! We are in a fast paced environment. Forget this commission crap, can Distant Horizon buy my web design firm?Yes, absolutely, and the more clients you have, the more likely we are to want you to stay involved in some manner in our company during and after the transition. We believe in long-term relationships. We are generally looking for companies that design and develop web sites in HTML or ASP or ASP.NET and control their client's hosting location. If you have a PHP or Cold Fusion shop, we would be interested if there are 50 to 100 clients or more, since these technologies have different server requirements. I live in a geographic area far away from Distant Horizon, can DH set me up in business here?Let's talk about it! There are a lot of potential ways things can go, but we do not approach our web design firms as "franchises" because we worry that the quality of the product and our control in monitoring our reputation could be diluted. We will always maintain the power to say "this project needs to be redone" because that is the instinct that has made us better. If your belief in our concept is strong and you really want to give it a go in a particular market, we will likely suggest that you work for us as an employee (usually as a sales consultant) to develop a market. Our sales commission structures are aimed at helping young people build to a significant income in stair steps so they arrive at affluence as their professional experience and life situation warrant it.
